Dr. Elizabeth “Ellie” Stevens
Called to heal the whole person—mind, body, and spirit
I’m a Christian, board-certified psychiatrist, retired U.S. Air Force officer, and trauma survivor. My life’s work is helping people encounter Jesus’ healing while receiving excellent, evidence-based psychiatric care. I’ve learned personally and professionally that God meets us in the deepest valleys and leads us to freedom, purpose, and renewed hope.

My story
For years, I carried heavy responsibility as a physician and officer. Then a severe traumatic brain injury and a cascade of losses brought me to the end of myself. In that season, God rebuilt what pain had fractured and redirected my calling: to walk with others through trauma, moral injury, anxiety, and depression with both clinical wisdom and Christ-centered care. That passion led me to found Advancing Warriors International, a ministry that equips veterans, first responders, and their families to heal in Christ-honoring community.
